Shona and Mike are a lovely fun couple, who we first photographed at Aberdeen beach at their pre wedding shoot.

This pair are both car mad, so of course included in the shoot were their two matching Subaru Imprezas! Mike is also a keen motor bike enthusiast. This theme was carried into the wedding with a car themed table plan created by Kim at http://www.aberdeenweddingshop.co.uk/Aberdeen Wedding shop.

On the wedding day, Shona looked stunning in her beautiful dress from Louise Lontano. It had not been chosen in haste however, as Shona had tried on over 100 dresses before finding the one!

Mike however was far luckier, purchasing the first suit he tried on, leaving him plenty of time to head to the pub. It was he admits, five hours later before he told Shona he had found his suit!

Shona has both a favourite number, and a favourite colour. As the number is seven, it was appropriate that Mike proposed at 07:07 on the 7th of December 2013.

You will soon spot the favourite colour, as we see it in Shona’s lovely vibrant bouquet, and in the balloons that decorated their venue. Even the men got a little bit involved!

Mike admits he was still a bit concerned on the day that Shona’s threat to dye his Grandma’s dog yellow and have him as ring bearer, was not just a joke!

The couple and friends and family enjoyed a lovely relaxed ceremony at the United Reformed Church in Nairn, before heading to the Mosset Tavern in Forres for the reception.

We enjoyed time with the couple in the beautiful grounds surrounding the venue, before everyone gathered to enjoy a wonderful meal and evening entertainment.

We wish Shona and Mike all the best for a wonderful life together!

Last Saturday saw us travel into the Highlands to the lovely location of Ardverikie House.

Ardverikie dates from 1870, and is recognised as one of the finest private houses in the Scottish Highlands. It is also well known as the location for the TV series “The Monarch of the Glen”.

We were very excited therefore when Pete and Morag told us they had selected Ardverikie House for their Wedding Ceremony, and we would have time for photography in these fabulous surroundings.

We started the day in the lovely Glenspean Lodge Hotel, where Morag was getting ready. She looked gorgeous in her beautiful Justin Alexander gown from Louise Lontano Bridal.

After the ceremony, we took time to explore Ardverikie, with the beautiful walled garden and beach on the loch. We then headed back to Glenspean Lodge for a beautiful meal before the wedding guests enjoyed a great night of entertainment with the Finella Jam Ceilidh Band.

We wish Pete and Morag all the best for a wonderful future together!

We had a lovely day with Rachel and Dave at their wedding at Meldrum House on the 7th of August.

Rachel looked stunning in her gown from Louise Lantano by designers Mon Cherie. Her bridesmaids looked gorgeous alongside her in their pale pink dresses from House of Fraser.

After a lovely ceremony in the marquee, guests enjoyed music from the wonderful Rococo string quartet, while the couple posed for some fantastic photographs.

A lovely evening was had by all in the marquee which looked beautiful with the many personal touches from the couple, including a gorgeous cake from Celebration Cake Shop. Everyone enjoyed music from the band Corra, which rounded off the perfect day.

See below all the suppliers chosen by the couple for their wonderful wedding.

Meet Charlotte and Paul, who first met in the pub which was “Oscars” in Inverurie, with Paul proposing to Charlotte on the night of her graduation ball!

They were married  in the beautiful and historic venue of Fyvie Castle. Fyvie is a real fairytale Castle which is a vision of towers and turrets. The castle is steeped in history, myth and legend. It is famous for it’s lavish interiors, intricate ceilings and fabulous art collection. The ceremony was conducted by Registrar Diane Duncan, with the couple choosing their own vows to make the occasion more personal.

Charlotte and Paul then travelled the short distance to the wonderful Meldrum House where they held the reception.

The couple said they had the most fantastic wedding day, and their favourite photo is of them standing in front of the castle with all the Autumn colours in the background. (We love it too!)

A fabulous honeymoon followed with time spent in both Dubai and the Maldives.

All the best to Charlotte and Paul for a fabulous future together from all at Rubislaw Studio.
